THE WINNER: Urban Roots is a "farm to school" agricultural-based education nonprofit is dedicated to "growing healthy bodies, minds, and communities". Urban Roots helps kids answer the question, "where does food come from" and strives to change the way kids eat and learn. Through creating school gardens, hosting kids at their teaching farm, and offering programming to use the garden as an outdoor classroom, Urban Roots brings seed-to-table education to the northern Nevada community, its children, and the educators who teach them.
