Curbside collection of food waste and other compostable "organic" material has been an optional service through trash haulers in Plymouth since 2022. Due to state law and county mandate, all Plymouth households will be charged for this collection service in 2024 – whether they use it or not.

Knowing that you will be charged for organics collection – and that participation requires an additional wheeled cart – do you expect to sign up for a curbside organics collection service in 2024?

What, if anything, prevents you from doing curbside collection of food waste and other compostable organic material now? (Choose all that apply)

Which of the following, if any, does your household currently do with food waste and other compostable organic material? (Choose all that apply)

With the state/county mandated charge coming and the potential for broader participation in curbside organics collection, the City of Plymouth is considering service options. Residents could continue to coordinate services and varying fees with garbage haulers, or the city could contract for organics collection with a single hauler (like curbside recycling), which may offer cost-savings and reduced truck traffic.

Which of the following, if any, are TRUE for you about collecting food waste and other compostable organic material? (Choose all that apply, if any)

Any other comments or suggestions about curbside collection of food waste and other compostable organic material in Plymouth?
