The City of Chanhassen is responsible for snow plowing on local city streets, trails, and public parking lots. Other public streets (primarily highways) are plowed by Carver County or MnDOT. Privately owned streets and parking lots are typically plowed by hired contractors.

If less than 1 inch of snowfall accumulates, the City only plows major streets and critical areas. If more than 1 inch of snow accumulates all City streets are plowed curb-to-curb including cul-de-sacs, which can take up to 12 hours to fully complete.
