Don't California'ize Nevada! What is going on there doesn't belong here. Stop taxing everything. Please recognize that many who live here will leave if you change Washoe County so its like living in Vegas.

I appreciate the work of staff and always hope that the political appointees respect and value the staff's knowledge and expertise over those interest groups who finance their campaigns. This may sound like I work for the county, but I never have. It's just that I've lived in Washoe County for more than 50 years and have watched the interests of developers, in particular, override the research and recommendations of staff. That said, I appreciate the work you all do to spend my tax dollars wisely, especially in the face of the venom and vitriol currently being misdirected at government and its vital role in keeping our communities healthy and safe. Thank you!

Roads: It feels like the plowing frequency has really dropped over the years. I live in the Upper Tyner area of Incline Village and we can see a significant amount of snow each winter. Unfortunately, the plows come later and less frequently.

Yes we live in Lemmon Valley and the lake is flood out people cause the money means more than the people

Do we have any codes living this area?like how many junk piled up in own yard or how many junk car sit in residential area.need some enforcement in this area

1.We need more snowplow drivers during our winter. 2.Parking during the summer is a mess... Boats, trailers and campers on our community streets. 3. Regulations for VRBO or STR... It's a mess up here... 4. Because of #3 our beaches are over crowded! I've lived here for 20 years and I have never seen it this bad. Please become proactive with our issues up here!

I hate the fact that you guys use Aramarkk to feed our students. Not only is it HUGELY wasteful, but you are forcing students to eat food that is Not fresh, Not tasty, Not interesting and n\Not connected to our lives and community. The amount of food waste that comes from school cafeterias is a CRIME. I've seen foreigners and refugees WEEP at the amount of wasted food. It is a travesty and it makes me sick. This is the number one reason why I have a negative opinion of Washoe County. Why not allow schools to cook their own food? Or, Use a local provider? Or, how about involved students in their own meals? How about not forcing kids to eat the same shitty food prisoners eat? Using Aramark makes me think you guys are corporate sell-outs, or just plain lazy. Ditch Aramark and DO BETTER, and I might not be scornful and embarrassed by Washoe county and our school system.

I think affordable housing is important. All Washoe County or Reno and Sparks care about is developing more luxury housing. Lower class, first time home buyers, the elderly, the hard working people who work so hard tin the service industry have nowhere to live. Why can't luxury developers also be required to build a certain amount of affordable housing? For every 500 house development maybe say they must also build 50 affordable housing units.

I guess distinguishing the difference the City and the County. I think I live near the line but where is it?

The County always seems to be trying to catch up with over development. It's OK to tell developers No. This is our community not theirs. They don't have to live with travel delays due to lack of road infrastructure or other issues associated with congestion.

Washoe County needs to improve programs for Senior citizens who do not live within the downtown area.

Anyone who has lived in Incline Village or Crystal Bay for a while knows that we get (except for the sheriff) poor services here for the taxes that the county collects. IV/CB needs some sort of semi-autonomy. Snow plowing services here are terrible to say the least. The registrar is a corrupt politician. The board does not respond to citizen complaints. The traffic division does not maintain our street lines in the spring/summer. Parking regulations are a joke. I could go on but enuf!

So far ( being a retired public servant ) I find this county to be hands above what I'm used to in where I used to live ( Southern California).

School district is too big, leads to disparate solutions, e.g., what works in Reno (the dog), doesn't work for the whole district (the tail(s)). Tyrolean Village maintains its own roads & possibly other services. e.g., water. POS, my opinion: WC picks & chooses. Neither the DAs of the county or the state oversee GIDs. POS Washoe Co., the only NV Co. I've lived in for 32 years, isn't doing its job. Among the reasons why: 1) Too big. 2) Not enough $$$s. Why? Let's not tax the people who get wealthy off of NV (mining & gambling come to mind) assets but let's get the people on the bottom with Sales Tax, a regressive tax is there ever was one.

Personally I don't feel that a logo or branding is all that important; I don't see the need for changing a logo or a "motto" etc. I'm incredulous at the time and money devoted to such things; actions and visible results that improve citizens lives are what matter more. For example, having more Washoe County Library services, hours, and resources affect more people and matter to more people than what logo and theme the library uses. Save the money and let them buy more books and computers for people to use.
