I think the parking on Tomohawk it terrible, way too many cars and boats. We have a duplex on that street and it is really bad. It seems like there are boat trailers parked all over the place. It seems like in winter most people know not to park on the street but summer obviously they aren't afraid of snow plows.
Keep boat trailers and RVs off the streets notably lakeshore and incline street.
No long term boat parking on streets. It’s ugly
No RV, boat, or boat trailer parking in town. Open Diamond Peak for storage during the summer for trailers.
Boats and rvs should not be allowed to park on the streets except in front of a home occupied by the owner. No one should be allowed to park their stuff in front of my house or any street where they don’t live.
I think your responses will change based on when you send this survey out. If you send it out in the winter, you'll likely get responses about cars being in the way of snow plows. Since this is summer, I think you'll get more responses about boat trailers being an eyesore around town.
Prohibit Summer time street parking of boats, trailers, and RVs. It's an eyesore.
Get the WCSO to write citations for all the vehicles parked illegally. That includes boats, trailers and RV's that aren't moved within 72 hrs. Contractor vehicles are problematic all year. No regard for neighbors or driving public.
Enforce existing laws about length of time a boat, trailer or RVs can be parked. As well as making that time even shorter.
Why don’t we open more school parking lots as paid lots for boat trailers, etc. when school is not in session? The shuttle could stop there, too.
Is there anywhere we could add parking to get boats and trailers off the street? They’re unsightly.
Restrict RV and boat/trailer street parking. Tow as required
No parking of boats and RVs on incline village streets
Enforce the existing regulations about boats/trailers being left on streets for weeks/months at a time. These people do not even live on the streets where these things are parked.
People should not be able to park their boats, trailers or RVs on the street overnight, without some sort of a 'visitor permit' (and then only once or twice during the year). Our streets are not parking lots or storage units, and as a full-time resident I resent that people can use my street for three day periods all summer long.
No Dirt Parking at all. The oil Goes in the lake. Get all unused cas Rvs and Boat trailors Out. No Free Storage anymore
No parking of boats/RVs on street overnight.
Prohibit boats and large RV’s on streets. Ideally if there were designated parking lots that people could pay to park as we pay to house our kayaks.
Construction worker cars/trucks/equipment ,Boats and RV's should be required to park off street outside of residential areas.
I would move all boat/trailers parking to Diamond peak and get them off the streets
I would speak with WCSD and discuss the possibility of allowing parking of boat trailers during the summer months.
More aggressively enforce illegal parking along streets (cars, RVs, boats, etc.). The new East Shore Trail is already bringing cars into the Mill Creek neighborhood to park (they ride their bikes from their cars to the trail). We may eventually need to go to permit parking. Also, not sure why roadside parking along 28 across from the Tunnel Creek Café/East Shore trail was made illegal. There is plenty of room on the roadside -- maybe another ped crossing closer to TC Café would help.
Long term street parking of trailers and or boats as well as ski mobiles should be stopped.
Ban overnight parking of boats and RVs on streets, except in front of your own home.
During summer parking for boats should be made available at Diamond Peak - for a daily/weekly/monthly/season fee.
Keep boats/trailers OFF shoulder parking....ESPECIALLY those of boat rental agencies. We ARE NOT their business parking lots!
Get boat trailers/boats off the public road sides
expand the overflow parking lot for boat trailer parking during the day
Ticket/remove boats and trailers parked all summer on city streets
Not a fan of boats and trailers parked on the streets
Parking for residents only, no RV no Boat parking on the streets
Forbid boats, motor homes and any type of trailers.
Stop all the street parking, especially the RVs and boats. Provide space for parking for folks. The new 90 spots by tunnel creek is not enough. Maybe build a garage parking facility somewhere?
RVs, boats, jet skis and snow mobiles are unsightly and should preferably be stored in the owner’s Garage or at a storage facility. These vehicles parked, even in owner’s yards diminish the property values of all homes around them!
Parking boats and boat trailers on the streets should be prohibited.
eliminate free parking except in front of your own home. Ban boat trailers & RV's from ANY street parking, except in front of your own home for a limited period of time, e.g. 3 days
Yes I think is is a top 3 if not top issue in our community. Parking on the street is hazardous, unsightly and creates weird dynamics for our housing, retail, dinning and community amenities. We have a 24 hour rule which is not enforced. People leave boats and RVs for weeks at a time in dangerous places throughout the community. You can't see driving. I almost hit pedestrians all the time as they are blocked from view by cars, boats or RVs on the streets. I can't understand why town does not enforce the rules we have much less make them stricter regarding street parking. Its not hard only park in a real parking spot!
Get the boat rental trailers off of the public streets. Remove abandoned vehicles off of public streets. Only allow parking in authorized parking spaces
Provide incentives or consequences for those storing their boats and RVs on the streets. It makes it dangerous for walking as there are no sidewalks in many areas so we must go into the streets to get around these recreational vehicles. Many towns have a 72 hour street parking limit for boats and RVs. I don't want to look out my window at someone's boat all summer.
Don’t allow boats and trailers to be parked on public streets. Make them pay and park in school parking lots.
Don't allow RV's and boat trailers to be parked on the street. They should be in a driveway or storage. They are an eyesore and make Incline Village look like a cheap trailer park.
Need a long term area for boat trailers. Reasonable priced
look at shared parking with schools, private owners for overflow parking. Rip up all the hard curbed street edges they did 2 years ago and re build with softer rolled curbs allowing cars to get further off the street. (incline way and Country Club Dr.) Fill in those useless deep coverts with 1/2 inch drain rock to re-open up those areas for DAY USE street parking. ban overnight boat and RV parking/camping/storage city wide and post it all with signage and enforce it..!!
Enforce the rules!! Boot cars and issue tickets. They know now that nothing is going to happen. We need to get across that you can't just park anywhere you like - and that goes double for boats and trailers
No overnight parking on Incline Way near Rec Center, seems like trailers and boats left there for extended periods, should be available using parks, trails, and other amenities
Reduce it. We need to reduce car trips in the town. Then we provide free parking at Elementary school lots for Sand Harbor bus. IV does not need to be North Shore's parking lot. Nor do we need to accommodate boat trailer parking. I am unclear why we have been increasing parking unsafely for the last few years.
Not allow people to park their boats or trailers on the street - ticket and tow them!
There needs to be more off street parking for cars, RVs, boats. I hate to say it, but there are not enough parking lots; however, we don't want to pave paradise.
Don't line the rich neighborhoods with rock lined roadsides preventing people from parking while filling in the ditches in poor neighborhoods like Oriole Way. It's very upsettig how that all happened. There are too many people with multiple vehicles. The more parking you create the more cars, boats, and trailers people collect. Especially in poor neighborhoods. We have reached carrying capacity. Incline Village is NOT a city. Let people park along roadways but don't make it worse for the poor and better for the rich. Another thing. The Hyatt got so greedy with their parking lot that they turned country club into a dangerous situation of more cars parked along the road throughout the year.
Allow boat trailer parking in the diamond Peak parking lot over the summer
Limit RV's, boats, etc., and especially the excessive number of cars parked around short term rentals. It's quite clear that rules are not being adhered to.
Parking of RV's and boats for long periods of time should not be allowed. I have seen some with warnings on them only to be left there for the next month
Legal limits for duration of parking without moving. Legal limitations for boat trailer parking on the street.
I'd like to see the boat trailers at diamond peak with a shuttle and free up more parking at the Village Green, aka, dog park.
Enforce parking violations, tow more. People just park until they get a warning and then they move it to another street. And numerous vehicles parked along streets are inoperable and haven't moved in years. All of the street parking makes our town look junky and we risk polluting the lake. Obviously, space is an issue all over town and available parking in most rental dwellings is inadequate for today's lifestyle and demands. Maybe landlords need to construct more paved parking areas for tenants to reduce street parking and parking in dirt ditches. Increase street parking restrictions, especially of boats and RVs or any vehicle parked overnight/long-term. If I had someone's boat/RV parked on the street on front of my house all summer, I would be very annoyed, and I cannot blame others who are experiencing this nuisance and inconvenience for being upset about it. If you buy a boat, you'd better factor in where you are going to keep it that's not inconveniencing others.
Make more public parking places for boats/trailers that can be easily accessed. Charge one fee for using a designated parking place and Ski Beach boat ramp. No double paying.
Boats, RV's, and large vehicles should rent a space and not park on public streets, especially for use of free storage.
Ban all parking of boats and RV's off of the main streets. Allow such parking only on your own property. Require boats and RV's to park in designated parking areas; maybe schools closed for the summer or the ski parking lot. Work out the details to make this work.
Ticket/tow rv, boat trailers parking illegally on street
Have the sheriff's office site people for illegal parking, including construction sites. Do not allow paid parking at the new Hwy 28 bike path as it will drive people into our neighborhoods and add to the congestion. Move or cite boats and RV's left on the streets. We need heavy parking enforcement!
Make a 72 hour limit on street parking. I live on a court and people park their toys ei boats, and trailers who don't even live on my court. So, then there is no parking for the people who actually live to there. Mind you these toys are not even registered. So it's not even legal to be parking them on the street. We have always parked our toys IE boat and jet skis on our property.if you buy these toys you should have a place to store them on your property or go run something in Reno or Carson. The streets of Incline look really trash with all this stuff parked on them. Every year it seems to be getting worse. it's very hard to turn left coming down McCourry on to Northwood with the guy from Jensen circle having all his boats parked on Northwood.
Enforce parking laws, give tickets tow illegally parked vehicles/boats/trailers.
STOP boat trailer parking. Enforce existing parking laws. Fine and confiscate any CA registrations parked illegally. Disallow street parking around beaches. Limit parking at village green to RESIDENTS only. Make all boa trailer parking in overflow only
No street parking of boats or RV’s.
Not allow boat, or boat trailer, parking in front of other peoples houses - only in front of the boat owners residence. There are too many cars parked on the street surrounding some apartments- I don't know what can be done about this.
Boats should not be allowed to park on random streets; trailers should not be allowed anywhere, apparently left for days or weeks, nowhere near homes. Vehicles should not be allowed to part on streets during snowstorms.
overflow cars and boat trailers on Village Blvd. during summer has been a problem.
I wish all the junkie trucks , trailers , boats , and other Lake toys would not park on Alder Avenue. It downgrades the street and is an eyesore.
Enforce street parking regulations! Ticket during snow / days and during summer for trailers/boats/RV’s! I pay a lot of money to park our travel trailer in Reno where it BELONGS!
There should be a *resident* sticker (or placards) for boats, cars with exclusive IVGID use at peak times (e.g. 4th of July)
Eliminate long term boat and RV parking on streets in the summer. Temporary or day use is fine, but there are people who store their boats, boat trailers, RVs, and other vehicles all over town. Its "Trashy"! Actually enforce the no street parking in the winter. I have never personally seen it enforced.
Limit parking for example a car/boat/trailer cannot be parked for more than 24 hrs or no street parking from midnight to 6am. This would help reduce parking abuse.
Suggest to use the overflow boat trailer parking lot (the one hidden by trees - across from Incline Beach) and charge to park a boat, boat trailer or RV there. Let them park overnight. Then make it illegal for them to park on the streets.
Don’t allow rvs and boats to park on streets. It is a mess. At least limit them to 24 hours, so IV doesn’t look like a ghetto.
Do not allow RV, boat or trailer parking along the street.
Get rid of boats, rv’s and trailers that literally litter our streets and neighborhoods. If you own one of these you should store it on your property not on our streets and in neighborhoods you don’t even live in.
There should be an ordinance against trailer/boat parking on streets after 10pm. They should be parked in the owner’s driveway, garage, or commercial storage area.
I would like to see the area on Incline Way by the Rec Center clear of boats and RVs. This is a highly trafficked bike and walking area (especially with dogs) and it is dangerous to have to juggle through cars, trailers/boats and RVs that seem to be continually parked there. I am also discouraged that the old elementary school has been turned into a parking lot and the Southwood neighborhood is being taken over by Sand Harbor parking. Please clean up/tear down this school and make a new park or public area for RESIDENTS not an out of town parking area. We could use another soccer field, another place for dogs and some additional indoor workout spaces and meeting spaces for RESIDENTS.
No boat and trailer parking on streets. It’s very dangerous.
Eliminate overnight parking of boats/trailers on Incline Way - looks tacky and that parking should be for people using dog park/fitness trail, etc.
Eliminate VRBO, AirBNB street parking (or eliminate VRBO, AirBNB in the Village all together), reduce legal trailer and boat street parking to 48 hours at a time (use a tag or chalk mark on tires system as in some cities), stop all IVGID supported activity that encourages non-residents to drive into the Village.
boat parking and rv parking on Incline way causing too many obstruction issues. Also enforce parking on country club, again issues with obstruction and views coming out of parking lots.
People should not be allowed to use the public streets as de facto storage for their campers, RV's, boats, ski doos, snowmobiles, etc. They park on the street (mind you not using them) but never moving for two weeks to three months at a time... therefore it can only be assumed that they are using the street to avoid proper storage fees. I have a neighbor who parks boat and uses it frequently, which I'm tolerant of , but the items that are essentially abandoned for weeks and not moved are a hazard to vision to passing cars, and an eyesore. They are just providing a free storage place for someone's junk that they shouldn't own if they don't have proper storage.
NO BOAT/TRAILOR PARKING ON THE STREETS.
Not allow long term parking of boats/trailers on the streets. I have noticed some being parked for months.
Eliminate all recreational vehicles from street parking . Long term boat, trailer, and camper parking ruins the village atmosphere. Looks dumpy and not classy. Why should someone be able to park their vehicle on the street all summer and ruin views of homeowners? Doesn’t seem fair to residents .
Washoe County needs to be more aggressive and consistent to ticket and tow vehicles parked over the white line (interfering with traffic flow) and vehicles on the street during snow removal periods. I don't care about boat trailers in the summer as long as they are parked behind the white line and don't impede traffic flow. I do vehemently object to the prohibition of the off-street parking on 28 across from Tunnel Creek Cafe. The new lots are now constantly full, and is still causing spillover parking along the other side of 28, Sweetwater, Lakeshore, Tramway. This decision was not well thought through from a practical standpoint.
Go back to what was allowed in previous years. We should be allowed to park on most streets if we're not over the while line. This is not California - don't put stupid no-parking signs everywhere for no reason. We need street parking and boat overflow parking. Making everything no-parking doesn't help us utilize the amenities that are the reason why we own property in Incline Beach in the first place.
Boat trailer parking around town down by the lake. I did notice yesterday that long-term boat trailer parking is now being done up on Mt. Rose highway across from the Reindeer Lodge. I have not seen that before, but love the idea so boat trailers are not around town so much in the summer.
SNC must charge students for parking, so instead they park along Country Club and Mill Creek, making visibility to turn unsafe. I take my dog to the Village Green to play, and since there isn't enough parking in Aspen Grove Parking, and it's convenient for me, I park along Incline Way. In the Summer it is often filled with boat trailers and RV's. I can usually find somewhere else to park, but it seems unfair for those vehicles to hog those for spaces for an extended period of time. I understand there are special weeks where there are going to be parking issues, and I can deal with that and plan ahead, But on a daily basis, it doesn't seem fair or safe.
Nothing, I enjoy the lack of enforcement, letting me have the freedom to park my boat in front of my house if necessary.
RV’s and boats should not be allowed to park on the streets overnight. Incline or the county needs to enforce rules by towing vehicles. I think most people in the Incline community are confident they will not be towed.
It appears there are too many cars/boats parking on the streets near the beaches. But I do not frequent the beaches so it is not a problem for me.
Street parking should be limited to the locations in the immediate proximity of your home or rental. Work it out with your neighbor but don't randomly park your vehicles and/or boats around town.
That people could not park and leave their boats and trailers on our residential streets
Only allow access to both beaches, boat ramp and REC center to picture pass holders and ACCOMPANIED guests and there will be no parking issues at the beach or boats or trailers parked all over town. Problem goes away, we get our quiet town back. Zero cost, too easy.
Use the school parking lots in the summer for paid parking for boats/trailers. The parking available for the new bike path is completely inadequate! Makes no sense to eliminate parking on the road there while attracting huge numbers of visitors to the path
I would like to see our current regulations enforced. Ticket cars parked on the street on snow days to allow plows to do their job. Also boats parked all summer long on our street when the residents are absent. I believe there is a limited number of days they should be left. I've also seen people camping in RV's on our village streets during the summer which I think shouldn't be allowed.
Not to use our streets for storage parking. People bring big trailers filled with all their toys and store them free on the street from May to October. We have a beautiful community that looks like a storage parking lot. I look out my kitchen window and should see beautiful trees. All I see for almost 6 months are boats, huge storage trailers and mobile homes. I would not allow our streets to be used for free storage. Fairview our of Bitterbrush looks horrible!! T is getting worse each year!
Do not allow boat/RV parking on streets
tow tow tow...the sides of the streets are not supplement or free parking...boats, trailers, and surplus cars are making our village a mess. How can the snow plows do their work when there are so many parked on the side, then when the vehicles are plowed in it looks like a disaster area of spring 'blooming' cars. Ugly Ugly Ugly. Makes Incline look like a third world country
Fine those home owners that park their boats and RV's on the street.
Reduce summer boat parking on public streets
Prohibit street parking of boats & RV's
Boats and RV's should not be parked for more than 24 hours on the street.
Let/make Boat Trailers and RVs park in the Diamond Peak parking lot during the summer.
We must be allowed to park on the streets in summer months...there is just to little space for parking. We live in a recreational area where people own boats, etc. We need street parking as long has we are parking safely.
rv and boat parking should not be allowed on the street
I would change the parking rules for beaches and ski beach. Until this is done I can't use the beaches or boat launch. Since I'm a resident and taxpayer I'm very concerned. Contractor rules should be clear about street parking and noise.
Boats and campers should be restricted to private property or off street lots. Somehow beach parking needs to be enlarged. Perhaps we have enough tourists, quick advertising for more visitors!!
Require the sheriff department to enforce the law against parking Boats and RV's on the street without waiting on someone to file a complaint. The sheriff department should put the notice of illegal parking on any boat or RV parked on the street immediately and tow the boat or RV as soon as the notice period expires. It is absurd for the sheriff department to wait for a complaint from the public before enforcing a law.
Ticket illegally parked boat trailers and vehicles.
Make it illegal to park boats, jet skis, snow mobiles and RVs on the street.
Nothing as long as it stays about as it is now.. people need street parking. Many do not have rec/boat parking within their complex so have no other option. Bitterbrush for example allowed 72 hours years ago and now cannot park for more than loading/unloading or cleaning.
Limit boat, boat trailer and RV parking. Allow resident parking by permit.
Maybe a designated area for boat and/ or trailer parking... the old school lot, or college lots?
Only residents can park one boat on the street. People that are running businesses launching bots are filling up the street by our house with boats at the end of the day.
HAVE A BOAT, RV, TRAILER PARKING SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN THE RESIDENTIAL STREETS. THEY ARE A HAZARD.
No Parking for RVs, boats, boat trailers, and vehicles with boat trailers empty or loaded except in designated parking lots or your own drive way. We should also eliminated at least one of the boat parking lots down by aspen grove....each boat is taking up way more parking then a family trying to use our beaches.
Not allowing boats on public streets
Have a special off-street parking lot for boat trailers and campers Definitely more parking for beaches
